BERKELEY COLLEGE PRESENTS ARTISTS OF QUALITY –

THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS EXHIBITION

Berkeley College is exhibiting the work of dedicated professional artists representing the American Society of Contemporary Artists (ASCA) organization at the Brooklyn Gallery, 255 Duffield Street, Brooklyn, NY.  This exhibit is on display from October 1 through December 27—Monday through Friday—from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and on Saturday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.  A reception will be held on Saturday, October 5 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.

Founded in 1917, ASCA is a national, not-for-profit organization of exhibiting art  curators, critics, teachers and members of other art organizations.  Artists of excellence are selected on merit by a revolving jury of their peers.  The membership seldom exceeds more than 100 artists, who voluntarily contribute their time, according to their varied talents, to the maintenance and continuing development of the organization.

Artist-members participate in public lectures and art demonstrations, as well as the presentation of awards that encourage the development of others within the arts community. The annual art students’ awards and scholarship sponsorships are ongoing events in keeping with the original mandate of bringing quality art before the general public.

An exhibition of the work of ASCA artists was featured in late 2011 at the Berkeley College Brooklyn Gallery.  It was well received by the public according to Robert Keiber, Curator.

For more information about the ASCA, visit www.ascartists.org.  For details about the exhibit, please e-mail Mr. Keiber at rjk@BerkeleyCollege.edu or call 212-252-2065.
