In the hopes of avoiding dead ends, I am making myself aware of various paths in my painting. Following a painting path is an exciting journey, and I still look forward to discovering the next step. However, time is running out, and I can avoid retreading old steps and heading down dead ends I have previously discovered.
I don’t have the space to hang everything so I look through galleries of images and sort them in to series. I forget easily what experiments I have tried.
I Identified the allover images created using the transfer method. I also noticed a kind of nestled series. Lately I found myself revisiting this loopy abstract composition that is lots of fun but seems like an easy safe undertaking. I am interested in growing and challenging. Following a painting path means there may be a language to develop that I haven’t found yet. It is like discovering an ancient civilization hidden away in the psyche. My job is to clear away the bushes and approach with respect and caution, allowing the revelations to show themselves with as few learned mannerisms as possible.
