Stephen Beveridge's Fine Art Paintings on the World Wide Web

Embodying subtle layers of wisdom, Stephen's acrylics serve me as a tool for meditation.  Every  time  I gaze at his "ANGEL" acrylic I see different images and receive new inspiration.  Stephen Beveridge demonstrates in his unusual  post-modernist art a flair both for technical proficiency and an evolved  sensitivity.
  ----Anna  Loomis  Hengerer

Each person reacts differently to the same painting, since each person brings unique experiences and personal tastes to understanding. There are no right or wrong answers in appreciating abstract art. If you free yourself from the expectation that abstract art is supposed to look like something, you have the most freedom of any observer throughout the history of art to interpret it any way you wish.

 Welcome to my

abstract paintings gallery by Stephen Beveridge, contemporary Scottish artist living in New York City

Stephen has exhibited in solo as well as group shows in N.Y.C.
A collaboration with David Ferrando hangs in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in N.Y.C. His paintings are in collections worldwide. He has been selected for juried exhibitions in metropolitan New York and received numerous awards.  Stephen when he is not painting, writes a column on art and the internet in Manhattan Arts International Magazine.

Art online will change the way art is judged in the future. By making fine art images available to a broader range of people the measure of what makes a painting great will be .......

Good? Bad? It will be different. Popular culture is far from the cutting edge. Should art lead or follow? Whatever your opinion you have every right to it as does every creative soul who dares to express themselves.

These paintings, I have transformed into bits and bytes, are an attempt to share my views. It costs nothing to look at them although the originals are for sale. I invite you to contact me and let me know what you see in these images. Does the image make you angry? Does it soothe you? Are you indifferent to it? This is your opportunity to let the artist know what you think of his work.

I will continue to add images to this website as I complete them. You are invited to return and see if your opinion made a difference. My work will change of that I'm sure. Whether your opinion affects it or not remains to be seen.

I will be keeping abreast of changes in the electronic world to make sure this website is the best it can be and that the images are as close to representing the paintings as they can be. Not every new development on the internet is available to everyone nor is every new development suitable for viewing Art. For that reason my websites are simple and uncluttered making them easily navigated and quick loading. I have struck a balance between the quality of the image and the size of the file.

I hope you enjoy the work and do come again.
